Rooms
The MediClin Heart Center Lahr/Baden combines the Department of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery and the Department for Internal Medicine and Cardiology under one roof and has 75 beds. The modern rooms are well-equipped with a WC/shower, distress call for the nurse, self-dial telephone and color television (telephone and TV against payment of a fee)
As an option, we offer single bedrooms with the following facilities: separate toilet, separate shower, electrically operated comfort bed, color television free of charge, optional catering, telephone without basic fees.
Food and beverages
Our weekly menu offers three different lunch choices. If you suffer from a metabolic disorder such as diabetes or elevated blood fat levels, we recommend our “light and tasty” menu.
You can add other dishes to our standard breakfast as you please. The weekly menu also includes a regular supper. An alternative dinner menu is available should you have other preferences. The nurse is charge of your care will be pleased to comply with your wishes.
During the first few days after surgery, you will receive a restorative diet consisting mainly of different types of puree and soups. Your attending physician will decide if, when and what type of food you can subsequently consume.
Ward
Please stay in your room during medical rounds, at meal times and during the general rest periods. We would be very grateful if you would not leave the ward after nightfall or 21.00 hours at the latest and to be quiet, also in the interest of the other patients.
As soon as your condition permits, the doctor will allow you to take walks within the hospital grounds. Please always advise us when leaving your ward.
